LDR are pleased to announce that 18 year old American Andre Lafond will be joining the team for the 2021 season. Andre has been racing karts since the age of 9 and will joining another Low Dempsey driver, Colin Queen, in making his rookie debut in cars this year.

Andre started racing seriously in 2018, in the New Jersey State Championship for TAG Junior, moving up to TAG Senior in 2019. 2020 was Andre’s first year of national races, racing primarily in the Rotax Stars and Stripes Series. He consistently secured top 5 finishes in addition to a 6th place at WKA grand nationals after driving through the field. He finished his 2020 season with a fourth place finish in the Rotax Stars and Stripes Championship.

Andre said, “I’m really looking forward to begin my rookie season with LDR this year and learn from one of the best teams in the UK! I’m excited to develop my skills and produce the best results possible for myself and the team!

LDR Team Owner Andy Low added, “We’re really excited for Andre to be joining the team this year. He has had an impressive career with karts so far and we’re looking forward to getting him in the car and seeing what he can do!”

The 2021 season is scheduled to kick off at Donington on May 8, after a delayed start due to Covid-19. Along with Donington, BRSCC National series is set to visit Knockhill, Silverstone, Anglesey, Brands Hatch, and Oulton Park, with the season culminating at Snetterton again in early October.
